About this game

“Treasure of the Forbidden Mountain,” made for kids ages 7 to 10, turns your house or backyard into the slope of a summit that legend calls impossible to climb. A mountaineer made the ascent and then disappeared, leaving five markers along her route, and each marker guards a different challenge: a rope to knot the right way, a contour map to read, a rock crystal to spot among a pile of ordinary stones. The kids follow her path from marker to marker until they reach the summit, where the treasure sleeps. Every challenge mixes sharp eyes, logic, and a little handiness, and none of them asks anyone to read a long passage, so even the youngest climber stays in the game. The book already includes every card and board to cut out, the steps are laid out one at a time, and the game works just as well for a handful of kids as for a big crowd around the party table. There is nothing to improvise on game day: hide the markers, start the game, and let the team climb toward the treasure. Five challenges carry the quest from the first marker to the chest at the top. The guide also offers hiding-spot ideas and backup hints for any team that gets stuck on the way up.
