About this game

“The Pharaoh’s Curse,” made for kids ages 8 to 12, puts the reader in the shoes of a young archaeologist’s assistant who steps into a freshly discovered pyramid, where whispers say an old curse guards a pharaoh’s treasure. On every page, a decision changes the course of the story: take the hall of statues or the narrow staircase, decipher the wall painting in the next chamber or leave it to the scholars, listen to the guide’s advice or trust the notebook of a vanished explorer. No two readings are alike: the book offers more than twenty branches and several possible endings, from the golden chamber reached before sunset to the discovery that the curse was only a clever trick. This is not a novel to read in one sitting but a real adventure to steer, where every choice counts and going back to try another path is part of the fun. The book already includes the complete story with all of its branches, a pyramid plan to fill in as you read, and a very simple rules page that shows how to jump from one numbered passage to the next. A blank logbook is included to note the chambers already visited and the paths already tried.
