About this game

“Treasure of the Cursed Pyramid,” made for kids ages 7 to 10, turns your backyard, a park, or a room in the house into a desert at the foot of a great pyramid, where an old curse, more mischievous than scary, guards the chest of a prankster pharaoh. To lift it, the kids solve five riddles the pharaoh left behind: pick the right scarab by its spots, put the steps of a sandy staircase in order, find which evening star points to the entrance, piece together a broken clay tablet, and figure out the gesture that opens a stone door. Every challenge mixes sharp eyes, logic, and a little moving around, and none of them asks anyone to read a long passage. The book already includes every card and board to cut out, the steps are laid out one at a time, and the game works just as well for a handful of kids as for a big crowd around the party table. There is nothing to improvise on game day: hide the clues and start the adventure. Nothing in this book is scary: the curse is just a string of pranks and puzzles. The guide also offers backup hints. At the end of the quest, every player gets a cut-out treasure hunter’s amulet.
