About this game

“Treasure of Mystery Island,” made for kids ages 7 to 10, turns your house or backyard into a legendary island that, they say, shows up only a few days a year. An old sailor mapped the island before it vanished from sight again, leaving five secret landmarks, and each one is guarded by a different challenge: a starfish to count, a seashell to make echo, a message written backward. The kids follow the sailor’s map from landmark to landmark until they reach the cove where the treasure sleeps. Every challenge mixes sharp eyes and logic, and none of them asks anyone to read a long passage, so even the youngest sailor stays in the game. The book already includes every card and board to cut out, the steps are laid out one at a time, and the game works just as well for a handful of kids as for a big crowd around the party table. There is nothing to improvise on game day: hide the landmarks, start the game, and let the crew sail on to the treasure. Five challenges carry the quest from the first landmark to the final chest. The guide also offers hiding-spot ideas and backup hints for any crew that gets stuck along the way.
