About this game

“The Vikings’ Treasure,” made for kids ages 7 to 10, turns your house or backyard into a village in the far North, where a legendary sailor hid the loot from his greatest voyage before putting out to sea again. Five clues, left behind as runes, navigation maps, and small odds and ends from the ship, lead the kids from hiding spot to hiding spot until they find the chest: recognize the sign carved on a shield, follow a star to find north, and put the steps of a longship voyage in order. Every challenge mixes sharp eyes, logic, and a little moving around, and none of them asks anyone to read a long passage. The book already includes every card and board to cut out, the steps are laid out one at a time, and the game works just as well for a handful of kids as for a big crowd around the party table. There is nothing to improvise on game day: hide the clues, start the adventure, and let the crew of young sailors row on to the chest. The guide also offers hiding-spot ideas, backup hints, and an easier version for the youngest players. Every player gets a Young Navigator certificate at the end of the quest.
