About this game
“The Knights’ Treasure,” made for kids ages 7 to 10, turns your house or backyard into the courtyard of a castle where an old knight is looking for his successors. Before he hands over his treasure, he has scattered five trials worthy of a future knight: a coat of arms to rebuild from its colors, an obstacle course to get through, a motto to guess from a few clues. The kids take on the trials one after another, earning a little more of the knight’s trust each time, until the final ceremony, when the chest opens. Every challenge mixes sharp eyes, logic, and a little handiness, and none of them asks anyone to read a long passage, so even the youngest squire stays in the game. The book already includes every card and board to cut out, the steps are laid out one at a time, and the game works just as well for a handful of kids as for a big crowd around the party table. There is nothing to improvise on game day: hide the clues, start the game, and let the team ride on to the treasure. Five challenges carry the quest from the first trial to the final chest. The guide also offers hiding-spot ideas and backup hints for any team that gets stuck along the way.
