About this game

“Mission to the Ocean Floor,” made for kids ages 7 to 10, locks your team inside a research submarine that has settled by mistake at the bottom of a trench. The hatches have sealed, the air supply is slowly dropping, and there is only one hour left to get the engine running and rise to the surface. Every compartment hides a puzzle: find which fish matches a sonar reading, put the steps of a dive in order, crack the code on a chest of instruments, and piece together a map of the sea floor. The puzzles are solved as a team, by looking closely and reasoning, with no long reading and no supplies to buy. The book already includes the padlocks to cut out and assemble, the clue cards, a countdown to start, and the grown-up guide, which explains the game step by step and offers backup hints so the game never stalls. It works as well for a birthday party as for a family evening, for a small group or a big table of kids. Five puzzles drive the climb back up, from the engine room to the control room, where the team that solved everything brings the submarine to the surface and earns a Deep Sea Explorer diploma.
