About this game

“Trapped in Robot World,” made for kids ages 7 to 10, locks your group in a workshop full of friendly robots, for as long as the automatic doors stay open, with a real countdown ticking on a screen of glowing numbers. Fix a robot by plugging in the right colored cables, copy a sequence of gestures in front of a sensor, work out a code by counting gears: each puzzle unlocks a clue that gets the group closer to the exit before the doors shut automatically. The mood stays playful and endearing, with curious little robots instead of menacing ones, and it fits a birthday party or an afternoon with cousins equally well. The book already includes the puzzles, the padlocks to cut out and assemble, backup hints for groups that get stuck, and a step-by-step guide for the game host: what to set up, what to say, and when to restart the countdown. It is an intense, short experience built to fit in one hour, from the first warning beep to the doors swinging open. Five puzzles follow one another, each tied to the last by an object or a mechanism, so the group really feels the pressure of the clock without ever staying stuck for long.
