About this game

“The Time Machine Escape,” made for kids ages 7 to 10, locks your team in the workshop of an inventor who has gone on a trip, where a big brass machine has thrown its dials out of whack. Time is getting scrambled all around the room, and there is only one hour left to set the machine right and get home to the correct era. Every step hides a puzzle: work out which object comes from which era among several drawings, put the stages of a historical timeline in order, crack the code on a chest full of gears, and piece together a broken dial. The puzzles are solved as a team, by looking closely and reasoning, with no long reading and no supplies to buy. The book already includes the padlocks to cut out and assemble, the clue cards, a countdown to start, and the grown-up guide, which explains the game step by step and offers backup hints so the game never stalls. It works as well for a birthday party as for a family evening, for a small group or a big table of kids. Five puzzles drive the repair, from the workshop door to the final lever, where the team that solved everything restarts the machine and earns a Time Traveler diploma.
