About this game

“The Midnight Manor,” made for kids ages 8 to 12, puts the reader in the shoes of a young guest stranded in a country manor by a thunderstorm, on the night a local legend says an old family secret wakes up. On every page, a decision changes the course of the story: explore the forbidden west wing or stay in the parlor with the other guests, trust the mysterious butler or doubt his advice, follow a strange noise in the attic or ignore it and wait for morning. No two readings are alike: the book offers more than twenty branches and several possible endings, from the family secret solved before dawn to an unexpected friendship with a quiet resident of the manor. This is not a novel to read in one sitting but a real adventure to steer, where every choice counts and going back to try another path is part of the fun. The book already includes the complete story with all of its branches, a plan of the manor to explore as you read, and a very simple rules page that shows how to jump from one numbered passage to the next. A blank logbook is included to note the paths already tried. An adventure to read again and again, different every time.
